Doug Jacobson, managing partner of Jacobson Burton PLLC, is a Washington, DC based international trade lawyer with more than 20 years of experience representing U.S. and non-U.S. companies on export controls, sanctions, customs, FCPA and other international trade-related matters. Doug serves as principal outside international trade counsel to a number of U.S. and non U.S.-based multinational financial institutions and companies, including those that produce electronic, industrial, medical, consumer, aerospace and defense-related products. He regularly represents clients involved in enforcement matters brought by BIS, DDTC and OFAC. Prior to forming his law firm, he was a partner in several well-known law firms in Washington, DC. Doug is the author of a number of articles on international trade compliance topics, is a frequent speaker on export controls and sanctions topics and is the editor of International Trade Law News (www.tradelawnews.com). He is active in a number of international trade organizations and served as co-chair of the export committee of the American Association of Exporters and Importers and is general counsel to the National Council on International Trade Development.
